The department of Botany established in 2001, is one of the leading departments of Arts, Commerce, Science, and Computer Science Ashvi Kd. It conducts academic programs at the under graduate level in the college. The department undertakes various academic and research activities to suit the needs of the rural set up. Teacher of the department have published 08 research papers in national and international journals. It has organized a state level self -funded one day seminar on Impact of Climatic Changes on Biodiversity, on 15 January 2018. It has also played an active role in the organization of national seminar of the science faculty held on January 2020.Apart from this the staff member participate in seminars, conferences and workshop to keep themselves abreast with the latest advances in their subject and sharing of knowledge. As part of its best practice and community responsibility, the teachers of the department give orientation to the farmers in the village about various cropping patterns. For this various field visit too are conducted. In addition to these, the department also organizes educational trip and field visit for student. Student are given guidance for self-employment through activities like nursery development, seed bank etc.

Department of Chemistry, Arts Commerce Science and Computer Science College Ashwi Kd. is one of the recognized, emerging and leading department in science and technology with a growing list of accolades earned nationally. The Department started in 2001, covers all the major areas of Chemistry, viz. inorganic, organic, physical and analytical chemistry. In addition to teaching chemistry courses to the undergraduate students, the department is actively engaged in research in the frontier areas of topical importance. Currently two faculty members of the department have acquired Ph. D., two faculty members have completed B. Ed.

The aim of the Department of Chemistry is to produce highly qualified chemists who have a broad knowledge of modern and applied Chemical science and excellent career prospects. The Department also undertakes fundamental and applied research in Chemical science and National Seminar/Conferences explore Chemical Science. Develop knowledge of the Physical, Inorganic, Organic, Analytical, Environmental and Green Chemistry etc.

  • Dr. R. B. Gaikar completed 30 days Faculty Induction Program from Dr. Harisingh Gaur Central University, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.
  • Mr. S. D. Bhumkar is awarded Ph.D. degree in Chemistry by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
  • Mr. S. D. Bhumkar has completed the 30 days Faculty Induction Program from Dr. Harisingh Gaur Central University, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.

  • Mr. Umesh Khemnar from T.Y. B.Sc. Chemistry is awarded with “Rajyastariya Yuva Vyakhyate Puraskar” in 2019-20.
  • T.Y. B.Sc. students won the “Avhan competition” organized by the MBA college, Loni in 2019-20.

Department of Physics is established in 2001. The Physics subject is offered to undergraduate students at FYBSc level. The department also conducted Bridge course and Remedial classes for slow learners. The Syllabus of the core course is prescribed by SPPU, Pune. However, the syllabus for Bridge course and Remedial classes are designed by staff of this department. The department has well equipped laboratory. The department has flexibility in conducting tests, tutorials, seminar etc. The staff is very active in extension activities on environmental related issues and use of renewable energy such as solar energy. The departmental library offers variety of reference books as well as eBooks and video clips on Physics. Staffs along with students are actively participated in Science day exhibition.

Staff of this department also active in demonstration lectures and video lessons to students. The faculty has good collaboration with eminent scientists from SPPU. The department intends to take lead role in the revolutionary changes for the rural area people for energy awareness. Staff of this Department always eager to explore innovative ideas with applied physics problems which help to make significant contribution to our understanding of the nature. Moreover, the faculty also developed electronic kits for the students to conduct practical’s. Currently the Department is headed by Dr Ashwini Baburao Rohom working in various research areas solar cells, Nanotechnology and material science which are the hot topic for today in Science field. The department extends the extension activities beyond the classroom in the form of conducting field visits and arranging guest lecture from eminent personalities.

The department of Zoology was established in 2001, is one of the leading departments of Arts, Commerce, Science, and Computer Science Ashvi Kd, which conducts academic programs at UG, level. Over the last 20 years our dedicated Faculty has given their best in uplifting, illuminating and empowering the students and their families through sharing of knowledge. The holistic development and achievements of students assure us that their efforts were not in vain.

The Department has diversified teaching and research to suit both recent advances and needs of the regional populace. The staff members of the department have published 26 research papers in various national/ international journals. Out of 26 research papers, 10 were published in UGC listed and 16 in UGC non-listed journals. Department conduct since 2015-2016 a certificate Course in sericulture. Department of Zoology organized state level self funded one day seminar on Impact on Climatic Changes on Biodiversity dated January 2018 and Department was actively role in national level seminar of science faculty held on January 2020 The staff members of the department also participation in various seminar workshop and conference, Prof. Gholap A.B. of the department Completed Faculty induction program and refresher course, The Department conduct best practice for nearby village farmer with student entitles pest control practices and its management form 2018-2019 and also different innovative practices such as Sericulture, Vermiculture, Apiculture, poultry, fishery and Science on wheel for student development. Department actively organize educational trip and field visit for student development. Presently significant research contributions are being made in the department in the field of biochemistry and physiology of parasites, fisheries, toxicology, environmental pollution, biodiversity studies, and entomology and pest control.

Department gives the guidance for Self Employment and Entrepreneurship Program considering the interest of the respective student. They are encouraged to start the small scale industry or business, e.g. Poultry farm management, Vermiculture & Vermicomposting, Management and Rearing of Sericulture & Bee keeping.
